Hamstead Village is a local shopping centre along the Old Walsall Road.
he original heart of the village, a row of Victorian shops still exists, see-Hamstead Village - Railway Terrace, which has been joined over the years by various other blocks of shops from the junction of Rocky Lane to the Hamstead Road.

Larger stores appeared with a Lidl supermarket Hamstead Road - LIDL which moved later to just outside the village on the old GKN factory site which opened in November 2021 Lidl Hamstead Hill, with the older small Lidl closing down.
